Purim With Grand-friends – Lets Go Virtual
Due to Covid-19 Chabad Early Childhood has created an exciting, and safe way for family and friends to celebrate the Chag. Children value what they see their adults value. Therefore, if we want the children to value Yiddishkeit, we must provide contexts so they see that adults in their lives engage with and value Yiddishkeit. As Chabad preschools, one of our goals should be to provide Yidishkeit experiences for the families. In addition to their own parents, grandparents and grandfriends have tremendous influence on the young children in their lives. Knowing the powerful affect of this generation on the children, we present the Virtual Purim Party with Grandfriends. (A Grandfriend is an older person in a child’s life, a grandparent, other relative or loved one.) This Purim, invite your students' grandfriends to share Jewish experiences. Specifically in their own homes, even moreso than a Purim event in school where we invite their adults. By bringing their grandfriends into their homes (via Zoom or similar), we are bringing the 3 generations together to celebrate Purim. The child, the grandfriend and the parents who are facilitating the event. We provide the framework and materials for a fun and meaningful event. We also created a Google Form for you to copy & edit that you can send to parents to sign up for the materials, etc.
